Simpsons Season 21 Premere: Homer The Whopper

So I've been waiting to post anything about the new season until I watched the new episodes a few times. "Homer The Whopper" was the start of Season 21 for the Simpsons and it felt a little quicker than some recent season's episodes... but considering the episode was written by Seth Rogan it's hard to say if this sets the pace for the season or just says something about Rogan's writing ability. The plot revolved around Comic Book Guy's comic book character "Every Man" who has the ability to take on any comic book character's ability... kind like Sylar on Hero's. The whole thing turned into Homer's weight battle, which has been done numerous times before (King Size Homer), so it would have been nice to see them try something different, but there were enough good jokes packed in to make it feel new and exciting. My favorite part of the episode was the quick cameo by Bongo Comic's own Matt Groening wearing a Simpsons jacket and saying "I'm so rich, I'm so rich".

In case you have yet to watch it, here's a link to the episode on Hulu: http://www.hulu.com/watch/98266/the-simpsons-homer-the-whopper

T-minus One Month 'Til New Simpsons Episodes

The new season of The Simpsons starts one month from today on September 27th! For a preview of the new season check out my Simpsons Season 21 Preview.

I finally finished Season 12 with the commentary, solid as usual... a lot of good behind the scenes stories, along with the third time on a dvd commentary that Matt Groening told a story about how the kid he went to grade school with that was the inspiration for Nelson sold kids a page out of their permanent record for a quarter after being sent to the principals office an hour every day.

The link on the bottom of the page might not be that noticeable, so in case you haven't seen it, you can follow me on Twitter for Simpsons news and updates on the site: http://twitter.com/thesimpsonsblog.

Alchohol and Night Swimming: A Winning Combination

So I'm one and a half disks into season 12 and very excited. I forgot how good Treehouse of Horror 11 was. Also I'm very excited that Matt Groening did more commentaries this season, he only did two on season 11 and it looks like he's on at least a half dozen on this one. Joe Mantegna sits in on an audio commentary and it feels like more of the main voice actors did commentaries this time around. I also forgot how the episodes in syndication wind up cutting a few things out, so it's fun to see a scene/joke that you haven't seen since it first aired.

What is mind? No matter. What is matter? Never mind.

I know what you're thinking, "A website about the Simpsons, what kind of jerk does this guy think he is? I mean really, why bother clouding the internet with yet another tribute to the greatest show of all time? Why not just jump off a bridge, ugly?". Well some time ago I realized that some time ago whenever I heard something even slightly related to a Simpsons quote, that quote would pop into my head, usually winding up in me laughing at police officers that informed me that if I didn't stop laughing at them they were going to have to lock me up and slap me around a little. I decided I needed a creative outlet for all of the space in my brain that the Simpsons has taken up over the years, thus MySimpsonsBlog.com. I plan on Simpsons quotes of the day, features on Simpsons writers/directors and guest stars, Simpsons news, and hardcore pornography. Well maybe not hardcore pornography, I guess that doesn't have too much to do with the Simpsons, or does it? No, it doesn't.

So thanks for dropping by, feel free to leave some comments and tell me off when I mistakingly misspell Millhouse or something.

    -Brian

P.S. Who are you calling ugly?
